Offers a HomeStay Program for high school & university students from the most heavily devastated areas of Tōhoku after the earthquake, tsunami and the on-going nuclear power plant problem in Fukushima. These students have been affected traumatically and have also been variously affected through the loss of loved ones and extensive property damage etc.
Completely free of charge including transportation and airfares, school program tuition fees, home stay fee and living expenses and insurance costs. We will also provide full support for travel itinerary, visa and passport applications.
A 4-6 week summer program to provide minimum interference with regular schooling. Summer Holidays in Japan officially commence on July 20th (Programs may be altered to fit Applicants schedules accordingly).
English language training will be provided in the weeks prior to departure to assist Japanese Applicants prepare for their HomeStay adventure.
Provide complete local support and a 24-hour HomeStay Counselor in the city of their HomeStay. This will be a Japanese person to assist Japanese Applicants should any concern arise.
What we ask from Host Families
· Pre-Homestay correspondence (via e-mail, letter, or social media)
· Airport pick-up and drop-off
· Food and lodging
· Including Homestay Guest in family events and weekend activities, including Church
· Church/Organization endorsement (Police Vetting Check)
Cost ($1500 per student approx.)
A standard Summer HomeStay program would normally cost $4,000+. However with support from Airline and Language School Partners, we are able to reduce this cost significantly. For Families that wish to register as a Host Family for this Program, they will be asked to pay $1,500 which will cover international airfares, language school costs and texts as well as administrative costs including visas and passport applications.
